A "great" way to spend a Sunday

SO, I survived, just barely, and spent the drive home crying.

When did it become appropriate behavior to poke someone in their stomach and ask when they are having kids? My stomach is far from flat so thanks for making me feel even more self-conscious about my jiggly spare tire. Not only am I not fat from being pregnant or having a baby, but now I get to feel even uglier than I have been feeling. Way to go jackass.

Here is a rundown of the rude questions I was asked today -

When are you having a baby?
Why don't you give your mother some grandchildren?
When are you having a baby? (followed by poking in the stomach)
What are you waiting for?
When are you having a baby?
How OLD are you?
Did I already mention, when are you having a baby?

Here is a rundown of my rude responses -
I don't know
I gave here a grand-dog, he's really cute
Never
Why don't you go ask my brother to go pro-create?

I also went with the following non-verbal responses
My trademark look of death
My trademark look that tells you I am blatantly ignoring you
Rolling eyes

Fun times.....

Oh, and the best part my cousin is naming her soon to be born 3rd daughter Aliah (A-lee-ah), lost another name. At this rate if I ever have kids I'll just call them by there birth order. For example, #1 go get #2, dinner's ready.

D went back to work today, he's sore and a little swollen. Going to ice his man parts. I know it just keeps getting better ;)

Ugh. Sounds painful. Been there. Oh, and as you may know, the names Primo, Secondo, and Terzo are all real given names to people in Italy...so you could always stick with that plan. :-)

I am so sorry that you have so many insensitive and extremely rude people causing this silent pain.

I wish I could think of the wity retorts I have heard but it doesn't make you feel any better or make it 'funny'.
It isn't a joke.

interestingly enough....my dad calls me and my sisters #1, #2, and #3. still to this day. occasionally he will use our names. but mostly it is numbers. i will open a birthday card and it will say: happy bday #1!

Oh how ridiculous! I think you're very kind to not just get up and leave, especially after being poked.

Also, glad to hear your DH is doing better. Mine had a bad MRSA infection about a month ago..same kind of thing, though he fortunately avoided the hospitalization. It's taking him forever to heal completely - still some bumpiness to the original infected hair folicle.

Anyway...happy ICLW!

I'm so sorry you went through that!! I never thought people could be this insensitive!!!

But I do have to say that I love the fact that you threw your brother under the bus. Why is the pressure never on the sons just the daughters???

HUGS,
Christine

I always went with an annoyed sounding "working on it!" which usually shut people up. But man - people are idiots.

Love the wedding pics below, btw. Love them! You guys look so happy. And I can just tell that his balls didn't resemble fruit at all. (Ok, totally inappropriate, I know. But I still can't stop thinking about the mango!)
