There was D and me and all we wanted was to expand our little family. We got a dog, the cutest puppy in the world and now all we needed were 3 kids to complete our home. Well, that turned out to be a lot harder than we thought. After trying for a year, I went to see my endo who told me to get DH tested before I had any more tests done. At the time my GYN had dx'ed with PCOS and I was taking met.
We got DH to a urologist who sent him for a SA and our results were a huge SHOCK!! There was no sperm in the sample! DH was devasted. DH then had cystocopy done and there were no blockages and a testicular biopsy showed maturation arrest sperm. His Dr. put him on clomid and HCG injections to jump start his spermies and hopefully get them to mature. A repeat SA was the same.
In the meantime, I went decided to get myself to a RE who specialized in PCOS. After various tests she told me I didn't have PCOS and that I needed to get DH to MFI specialist at Cornell.
After waiting forever to get an appt. with Dr. S, D and I finally got to see him. He ordered lots more tests for D, b/w, testicular u/s, genetic testing and eveything came back normal. SO, we are moving forward with IVF w/ICSI and mTESE this Sept.
We are both excited to be moving forward and are praying that it works.
